Anti-drug concert held in Vientiane

(KPL) Hundreds Vientiane youngsters flocked to an anti-drug concert at the National Culture Hall in Vientiane last Friday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony was the Soubanh Srithirath, Chairperson of Lao Commission for Drug Control and Supervision (LCDC) said that the concert under slogan “Be Smart, Don’t Use Drug” was held aiming at celebrating the 24th Anniversary of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking and also raise awareness of Lao youths don’t use the drug.
The narcotic drugs were seized from drug traffickers over the past one year including heroin 77 blocs weighing 859.5 Kg, methamphetamine locally known as Yabaa weighing 186 Kg and 348g, cocaine weighing 250.3 grams, dried cannabis weighing 2,244 kg, 16 pieces of opium mixed up with cloth weighing 7.7 kg, 1,400,000 tablets of cold medicine containing chemical precursor (Pseudo-ephedrine) that can be used to produce ATS, according to an annual report of Mr. Soubanh Srithirath.
The concert was organized by the Lao Commission for Drug control and Supervision drawing Lao well-known singers including Athisack-Sack Cells band, Aluna, May, Tee Odalay and Baby Rock.
