Seoul shares up 0.98 pct in late-morning trade
SEOUL, June 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean shares traded 0.98 percent higher late Tuesday morning as institutional investors snapped up builders and oil refiners on Greek optimism, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 20.36 points to 2,090.65 as of 11:20 a.m.
Oil refiners bounced back from losses with S-Oil gaining more than 3 percent. Mobile operators gained ground ahead of the launch of fourth-generation mobile service scheduled later this week. Top mobile carrier SK Telecom added nearly 2 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,080.9 won to the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., up 4.6 won from Monday's close.
