BERLIN, June 28 (Itar-Tass) -- China "is satisfied with the
development of relations with Germany and intends to intensively promote
the expansion of trade and economic ties" with Germany, Chinese Prime
Minister Wen Jiabao said speaking on Tuesday at the economic forum which
is underway here.
Together with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel he participates in the
intergovernmental summit consultations - first in the history of two
countries talks in such a format which are underway in Berlin.
According to the Chinese prime minister, Germany "is a motive power of
the development of friendly cooperation between Europe and China. "It is
impossible to imagine the current development of Chinese-European
relations without efforts being undertaken by Germany and its support," he
said.
China, as Wen Jiabao said, intends to double during five years trade
turnover with Germany which amounts at present to more than 140 billion
dollars. "China is ready to import more German products of high quality
and expects that Germany will quickly recognize it as a country with the
full market economy," the Chinese prime minister said.
China, as he went on to say, "is open for an increase of investments
of German concerns." At present, over 7,000 German firms are operating in
China already, the Chinese politician specified.
The Chinese government also intends to ease the access of German
enterprises of medium business to the Chinese market. To ease interaction
of the two countries' firms of medium business, a special credit programme
with the volume of two billion euros will be worked out, Wen Jiabao
promised.
For his part, German Minister of Economy and Technologies Philipp
Rosler stressed at the forum that "German enterprises hope for just
conditions to participate in the competition" in China. "We need both
legal security and activities in conditions of the legal state," he noted.
