OIC INTENSIFIES EFFORTS TO HELP PALESTINIANS IN GAZA STRIP
DUBAI, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- The Organisation of the Islamic Conference
(OIC) is intensifying efforts to assist Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip
which is suffering under a crippling embargo.
In a statement, the Jeddah-based group said this coincided with the advent
of the Ramadan fasting month.
"The OIC has launched a second aid campaign by freighting medication, food
supplies and other medical supplies, currently on their way from Jordan to the
Gaza Strip," it said.
It appealed to all philanthropists and benevolent organisations across the
Muslim world to contribute generously to kickstart a third aid campaign.
The OIC was hopeful that this would have a palpable impact in alleviating
the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip due to what it
described as an unjust embargo.
