For the first time, one third of the MPs of the 550-member parliament did not take oath as 134 MPs of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and 34 independent parliamentarians did not take oath and due to the arrest of Engin Alan from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
CHP MPs entered the Parliament but did not take oath as Mehmet Haberal and Mustafa Balbay, who were elected MPs from CHP, were not released.
FIRST CONTACT TODAY
Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek will visit CHP chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu today. Commenting on the visit, Cicek said, "to take views for Parliament Speaker".

ANKARA LOCKED, ERDOGAN HAS THE KEY
Daily Milliyet first had an interview with Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu. He said, "we were very careful in the statements we made. We said 'till the ways are opened to take oath' not till 'Balbay and Haberal take oath'. The target is not to insist, it is to find a solution."
This means Kilicdaroglu keeps open the door to words that will come from the prime minister. The only CHP MP Oktay Eksi who took oath said CHP would give a motion for solution.
Then, Milliyet spoke to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. When recalled that Kilicdaroglu was waiting for a statement, he said, "we will consider when they make their proposal," meaning he did not close the doors.
PARLIAMENT IS THREE PARTS
Parliament started its 24th term with a crisis that was never seen before in its history. Parliamentarians supported by Peace & Democracy Party (BDP) boycotted the parliament and MPs of CHP boycotted taking oath. As only Justice & Development (AK) Party that got 49.9 percent of the votes and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) MPs that won 12.9 percent of the votes in the general elections took oath, the names representing 37 percent of the electors could not take office.
