MATRADE TO HELP ENTREPRENEURS EXPLORE GLOBAL MART
KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu, Malaysia), June 29 (Bernama) -- Entrepreneurs
involved in the petrol and petrochemical supporting industries in east coast of
Terengganu are urged to venture into international level.
Malaysia External Trade Development Corp's (Matrade) senior director of
export development, Zakaria Kamaruddin, said the sector has vast potentials in
overseas markets.
He said among the products and services which had the potential were
seafood-based, halal products, herbs, textiles and biotechnology.
"With the cooperation from various state and federal government agencies,
Matrade is ready to help the entrepreneurs to explore the global market," he
said.
Zakaria said this to reporters after officiating 'Matrade Together with
Entrepreneurs and Exports' programme here Wednesday.
Also present was Matrade director for Eastern Region, Hasziah Mohd Yazid.
The programme, the fourth for this year, has been held in Kuala Lumpur,
and the states of Perak and Sabah. It will move to Penang, Johor and Sarawak
next month.
He said Matrade, with the cooperation of the agencies under the Ministry of
International Trade and Industry like SME Corp, Malaysian Investment Development
Authority, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd and SME Bank would
help the entrepreneurs.
Zakaria said entrepreneurs also needed huge expenses to export their
products and would have to depend on banks for loans.
"Matrade will cooperate with the agencies concerned to help them overcome
the problem," he said.
