Ugandan Diplomat Underlines Iran's Important Role in Africa
TEHRAN (FNA)- Ugandan Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad Ahmad Kissule stressed that Iran plays an important role in regional and global equations, specially for African countries.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the most important countries of the world, specially for the African countries," Kissule said in a meeting with Head of the Commercial Organization of Zanjan province, Northern Iran.
He also reiterated the necessity for the reinvigoration of his country's economic ties with Iran, and said Iranian businessmen should pay more attention to such mutual cooperation.
Iran has in the past few years shown increasing willingness to expand ties and cooperation with Africa and offered to transfer experience and technology to several African states.
Since taking office in 2005, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has striven hard to maximize Tehran's relations with the African continent.
Tehran has prioritized promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states and the country is now considered as one of the African Union's strategic partners.
