Daewoo Shipbuilding wins US$400 mln order for LNG carriers
SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. said Thursday that it has won a US$400 million deal to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
Under the deal with Angelicoussis Group of Greece, the South Korean shipyard will deliver the vessels by the first half of 2014, the company said in a statement.
The vessels can each carry 159,800 cubic meters of LNG, Daewoo Shipbuilding said.
So far this year, Daewoo Shipbuilding has won deals valued at $7.13 billion to build 30 ships. The shipbuilder is targeting orders worth $11 billion this year.
