SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 23 to June 29, 2011.

June
23 A delegation of the (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) led by its General Director Kim Pyong-ho leaves Pyongyang to visit the United States at the invitation of the Associated Press.
23 The 14th national taekwondo championships for Jongil Peak Cup closes in Pyongyang.
23 A friendship visiting group of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) led by Ri Yong-sik, chief secretary of the Phyongchon District Committee of the WPK leaves for China.
23 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun has a talk with Sergio Mercuri, new Italian Ambassador to North Korea.
23 Premier Choe Yong-rim starts making spot inspections of industrial facilities in the provinces of North and South Hamgyong.
