Inter RAO resumes electricity supply to Belarus.

MOSCOW, June 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia's electricity supplier Inter RAO
UES has resumed electricity supplies to Belarus after the latter repaid
its debt, a company official said early on Thursday.
According to Anton Nazarov, electricity supplies were resumed at
midnight. It is planned that Inter RAO will supply 400 megawatt of
electricity.
On Wednesday, Inter RAO received a second tranche of 600 million
roubles from Belarus for electricity consumed in April, the company's
official told Itar-Tass.
"Russian and Belarusian technical services have agreed resumption of
electricity supplies from 0:00 Moscow time on June 30," an assistant to
the Belarussian energy minister, Lyudmila Zenkovich, told Itar-Tass
earlier.
According to Zenkovich, the second tranche was delayed because of
difficulties in the system of banking operations. "That is why Belenergo
had to use credit resources from BPS-Bank," she noted.
Electricity supplies Belarus were suspended from 0:00 Moscow time on
June 29 over payment arrears. Earlier, on June 9, Inter RAO UES limited
electricity supplied to Belarus over its 1.5 billion rouble debt for
electricity consumed since February. Later, supplies were resumed to the
full. Under a payment schedule, Belarus is to repay its debts for March,
April and May in three tranches before July 5. Belarus' Belenergo
transferred the first tranche of 600 million Russian roubles on June 15.
But the second tranche was delayed.
