Hanwha Engineering wins US$180 mln order from Saudi Arabia
SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corp., a South Korean builder, said Thursday that it has signed a US$180 million deal to build oil pipelines and storage tanks in western Saudi Arabia.
Under the deal with Marafiq, a Saudi Arabian power and water utility company, Hanwha Engineering will construct two pipelines and 14 storage tanks with a combined capacity of 900,000 tons for a desalination plant in the Yanbu industrial complex, 300 kilometers north of Jeddah, said the company.
Hanwha Engineering said the construction will be completed by the end of 2013.
Earlier this year, Hanwha Engineering clinched a $1.05 billion deal to build the power station and desalination plant in the industrial complex.
The South Korean builder has won $1.23 billion worth of orders related to the Saudi's Yanbu project.
