MCLEAN TECHNOLOGIES MULLS SETTING UP HARD DISK DRIVE PLANTS IN M'SIA, THAILAND

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- MClean Technologies Bhd plans to set up
hard disk drive (HDD) manufacturing plants in Malaysia and Thailand to further
tap rising global demand for HDDs, its chief executive officer Bert Chow Kok
Meng said today.

Currently, the company has two plants in Singapore and China.

"Our priority now is China, but we hope to be physically present in Malaysia
and Thailand as they're among major HDD producers in the region," he said.

Chow said MClean's second plant in China, located near the first one in Wuxi
City, is to start contributing to the company's revenue in August this year.

"We expect our operations in China to overtake Singapore's in 2012 in terms
of revenue contribution, thanks to the positive outlook for the HDD industry in
that country," he told reporters after the company's annual general meeting.

Singapore is presently MClean's largest revenue contributor, yielding RM19.6
million (US$6.53 million) last year. China and Malaysia contributed RM1.5
million and RM7.4 million, respectively.

Chow said China's HDD industry is expected to record a double-digit growth
while a single-digit growth is forecast for Singapore.

"With the new plants operating, we aim to double our capacity. We expect
China to contribute a big portion to our revenue going forward," he said.

On the company’s performance for the current year, Chow said: "We expect to
continue to do well this year despite incurring losses in the first quarter. We
expect it to be like 2010, if not better."

Last year, the company earned RM30 million revenue (US$10 million), up 49
per cent over 2009, while nett profit rose to RM4.5 million from RM1.75 million.

MClean provides precision cleaning, clean room assembly and sorting
services, among others, to HDD and semiconductor industries.
