Seoul shares up 1.05 pct in late-morning trade
SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 1.05 percent higher late Friday morning as foreign investors scooped up blue-chip tech and auto shares, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 21.97 points to 2,122.66 as of 11:20 a.m.
Tech shares bounced back from previous sessions' losses on foreign and institutional buying. Market bellwether Samsung Electronics rose about 2.5 percent and chipmaking giant Hynix Semiconductor jumped more than 4 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,067.15 won to the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., up 0.55 won from Thursday's close.
