Famous Buryatia's Dasha to meet visiting Putin again

MOSCOW, July 1 (Itar-Tass) -- 11-year old schoolgirl from Buryatian
village of Tugnui Dasha Varfolomeyeva, who became famous after succeeding
to talk to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during his live TV interview in
2008, will again meet the head of government during his trip to Buryatia
on Friday to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Buryatia's accession to
Russia.
During the TV interview Dasha asked Putin to present her "a Cinderella
dress" and the prime minister fulfilled the request at the children's New
Year party in the Kremlin where Dasha, her elder sister and mother were
invited to arrive.
Dasha and her mother told Putin about problems they encounter in
native Tugnui and the prime minister ordered to draft a development
program for the settlement.
Thus, Dasha became the most famous girl in Tugnui with a population of
one thousand people. Extraordinary things began to happen in the
settlement. Buryatia President Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn visited Dasha several
times followed by numerous journalists from Moscow.
A cultural and educational center is under construction following
Dasha's talk with the prime minister. It includes a new school for 150
pupils and pre-school training center for 45 kids, a sport ground,
reconstructed culture house for 190 spectators, a recording studio, a
library, a gym and even a feldsher-midwife station. The center is to be
commissioned in autumn and Putin will inspect construction progress.
The government press service said Putin will meet Dasha and her
relatives during the trip to Tugnui.
Dasha's grandmother Nina told local media the family was informed
about Putin's arrival two days ago, but succeeded to quickly renovate the
house.
Major renovation work is underway in the whole settlement for Putin's
visit, local media said.
