Al-Houthi Movement Blasts US, Saudi Arabia's Interference in Yemen

TEHRAN (FNA)- A spokesman for the al-Houthi movement lashed out at the Saudi officials for their interfering measures in Yemen, saying that uprisings in the region have increased Riyadh's concerns about the future of the Saudi regime.
"Since Saudi Arabia shares long joint borders with Yemen, it has interfered in the country's internal affairs and still continues meddling," Mohammad Abdulsalam al-Hakami told FNA on Sunday.

"The revolution of the Yemeni people has worried Saudi Arabia because Riyadh is worried that the flames of the revolution may spread to Saudi Arabia too," he added.

Yet, al-Hakami described the US interference in his country as the biggest and most important obstacle in the way of the Yemeni people's victory over Saleh's regime, and said the US supports have prevented the Yemeni regime's complete ouster.

Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people staged rallies in different parts of the country in recent days to underline the full overthrow of the regime of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and condemn foreign interference in their country's affairs.

Protestors shouted their resistance until Saleh's offshoots are all taken down from power, and stressed that their revolution would continue until achievement of all the goals specified at the initial stage.

Demonstrators carried placards which showed public condemnation of foreign meddling in Yemen's domestic affairs and said foreign interference is aimed at rescuing Saleh's regime.

The Yemeni protestors found themselves halfway to victory after fugitive Saleh, who was wounded in an attack on his compound, escaped to Saudi Arabia, which shelters fugitive dictators these days.

Vice President Abduraboo Mansur Hadi has taken over Saleh's duties, while people want him down as well.
