Iran to Hold 2nd National Congress on Novel Technologies in Building Industry

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Ministry of Housing and Urban Development announced that it is scheduled to hold a "Congress of Novel Technologies in Building Industry" in the Northeastern Khorassan Razavi province from July 20 to 21, 2011.
Changing the approach of the conventional method of construction to the modern one, identification of the novel methods in the construction of buildings, pathology of the obstacles in the application of novel technologies in building industry and creating relationship between the supply and demand market are among the objectives of the congress to be held by the Iranian Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, in association with the Housing and Urban Development Organization of the Khorassan Razavi Province.

The various scopes to be discussed at the congress include:

o The role of the use of novel technologies in construction (time, cost, and quality);

o The role of new materials in the novel building technologies and industrial construction;

o Systems of the structures that are resistant against earthquake especially in the novel building technologies;

o Local and regional models in the novel building technologies and successful experiences within the country;

o Applications of the novel building technologies in the rural housing (successful experiences);

o Introducing new materials in the construction of lighter structures (light concretes).

Among the programs that will be held concurrently with the congress, mention can be made of an exhibition on devices and structures based on novel technologies with the participation of firms and companies that produce new products in the building industry as well as educational workshops on novel technologies in the building industry.
