Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Arrives in Ashgabat
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Deputy Interior Minister Mehdi Mohammadi-Fard , heading a political delegation, arrived in the Turkmen capital city of Ashgabat on Monday.
The Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Parliamentary and International Affairs is accompanied by a delegation of directors and experts from several governmental bodies, including the foreign ministry.
Mohammadi-Fard, who is also accompanied by a media delegation, is due to review the working agenda and the itinerary of Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, who will leave for Turkmenistan later today.
Najjar will be accompanied by a senior delegation which will include governor-generals of Iran's Northern Golestan and North Khorassan provinces during his trip to Turkmenistan.
The Iranian embassy in Ashgabat said that during his two-day visit to Turkmenistan, Najjar is due to discuss expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries in security, border, economic, social and cultural grounds.
Najjar is also due to meet senior Turkmen officials, including President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredev and his counterpart Isgender Mulikow to review the latest conditions of cooperation between the two countries and discuss expansion of bilateral ties and cooperation proportionate to the potentials and capacities of the two nations.
Iran has recently enhanced efforts to boost political, economic and cultural ties and cooperation with the regional and neighboring states, specially those in the Central Asia.
