Lavrov to push on with Nagorno-Karabakh settlement

MOSCOW, July 8 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan on Friday to promote Nagorno-Karabakh
settlement after the presidents of the two countries failed to agree the
guidelines of the settlement at the latest summit in Russia's Kazan in
June mediated by Dmitry Medvedev.
"The visit of the minister is paid upon an instruction of Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev," the foreign ministry said.
The summit in Kazan was the ninth trilateral meeting since 2008 and
the second in 2011. Although the guidelines were not agreed the parties
expressed political will to continue the search for mutually acceptable
solutions to resolve the conflict.
