IKCO Shoots for Quality Improvement, Customer Satisfaction

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's largest carmaker, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), announced that it has planned a comprehensive program to improve the quality of its products, renew the existing platforms and design new ones.
Referring to the bylaw of the Ministry of Industries and Mines that requires carmakers to upgrade the quality of light vehicles and their parts and components, IKCO's Deputy CEO for Quality Improvement Kianoosh Pourmojib stated, "One of the topics of this bylaw is to upgrade the existing platforms into which IKCO has seriously decided to put much effort. "
"Since IKCO considers platform development as one of its main objectives, it has benchmarked the activities of other global carmakers in this field and started mutual cooperation with them in order to upgrade the platforms and produce new ones. "
"Based on C100 index (the number of replaced parts in after-sales service), there was an average of 43.2 percent of growth in all IKCO cars quality. This growth was 40 percent in Combined Audit (Pre-Delivery Quality) index. The quality indices are determined by ISQI (Iran Standard & Quality Inspection)."
Referring to the implementation of the 295 customer satisfaction projects in 2009 and 2010, Pourmojib said, "IKCO has implemented various programs to improve quality indices accordingly."
"For this purpose, IKCO has organized Quality Improvement and After-sales Service Supreme Committee that consists of five sub-committees."
"Another issue the Ministry's bylaw plays up is the quality of parts used in cars that is evaluated by the number of cars requiring after-sales service centers," he said.
There is another important issue IKCO cares about and it is the level of customer satisfaction in sales and after-sales service representatives. For this reason, IKCO doesn't deal with part-makers that produce parts with C grade quality.
