Imam killed in Dagestan.

MAKHACHKALA, July 10 (Itar-Tass) -- A local mosque imam was killed in
Dagestan's village of Karamakhi, the Buinaksk district, overnight, a
Dagestani police source told Itar-Tass.
It is the third murder of a Muslim cleric in Dagestan since early
April this year, when a local mosque imam, Magomed Saipudinov, was killed
in Dagestan's Kizlyar district.
In June, unidentified attackers shot a village imam, 76-year-old
Ashurulav Kurbanov, when he was returning home from the mosque after
morning praying.
The National Antiterrorism Committee stated earlier that murders of
clerics in Dagestan were evidence of unlimited cynicism and complete moral
degeneration of members of the bandit underground, who stop at nothing and
commit crimes condemned all over the world, including by Islamic religious
leaders.
