One suspect, local resident, detained over conflict in Sagra,
MOSCOW, July 9 (Itar-Tass) -- A suspect is detained over the mass
fight in Sagra, in which one man was killed, senior aide of the chief of
the Russian Investigative Committee's Sverdlovsk regional department
Alexander Shulgin told Itar-Tass by telephone.
A 31-year-old local resident is detained. He has admitted he fired,
but did not shoot anyone. A charge of hooliganism is brought against him,
Shulgin said.
The conflict between local residents and a group of men who arrived
from Yekaterinburg occurred on the night to July 1. Participants in the
conflict used knives, sticks, chains and firearms. A 28-year-old
Yekaterinburg resident was killed in the shooting. More than 30 people
participated in the fight.
Three criminal cases were opened over the fact, two on charges of
murder and one for hooliganism. The cases are united in one legal action.
There are no other detainees. All the persons who came there with arms
are identified. They number about 15. Some of them are already questioned,
Shulgin said.
Investigators together with the Federal Security Service's regional
department, the regional drug control service and the regional police
department conduct investigative work to establish the role of each
participant in the events, the official noted.
