Seoul shares down 0.83 pct in late-morning trade


SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.83 percent lower late Monday morning as foreign and institutional sell-offs outweighed retail investors' net buying, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) tumbled 18.06 points to 2,162.29 as of 11:20 a.m.
Blue chips broadly lost ground, with tech behemoth Samsung Electronics losing around 2 percent and top automaker Hyundai Motor slumping around 3 percent.
The local currency was changing hands at 1,060.45 won to the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., down 3.45 won from Friday's close.
