Ahmadinejad Views Israel as "Greatest Threat" to Regional States

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the Zionist regime of Israel as the greatest threat posed to the region, and urged the regional states to take the necessary actions to contain this threat.
"Effort should be made to take all measures to contain this fake regime," President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu here in Tehran on Monday evening, and cautioned that "any move in line with the Zionist regime's goals and objectives means committing suicide".
He further warned the regional states to avoid playing in enemy's court, and noted that the US is seeking to stir sectarian and ethnic strife to sow discord between the Sunnis and Shiites, or Turks and Kurds and the like in a bid to save the Zionist regime of Israel and revive its own economic status.
President Ahmadinejad further called on the regional states to keep vigilant against the plots hatched by the aliens and prevent foreign interference in their affairs.
"When aliens find a foothold in the internal affairs of the regional countries, it will definitely be harmful to the interest of all the regional countries," Ahmadinejad stated.
As regards Iran's ties with Turkey, Ahmadinejad said that the two countries can take major steps in the interests of the two nations and other regional states.
Iran and Turkey have in recent years increased their cooperation in all the various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture.
The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.
