Iran Asks Independent States to Improve Ties Based on Global Interests

TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili asked independent countries to regulate their relations on the basis of the shared and real interests of the world community.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Nikolay Tomenko here in Tehran on Monday night, stressing that the era of Washington's bullying and totalitarianism has ended.
During the meeting, Tomenko pointed to his country's policy of strengthening relations with independent countries like Iran, and expressed pleasure in seeing Iran's astonishing and outstanding progress.
He also underlined that he is pleased to see the growing trend of the bilateral relations between Tehran and Kiev.
Iran has been seeking to bolster ties with Eastern Europe, specially Ukraine, in all the different political, economic and cultural spheres in the last few years.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Ukraine's Ambassador to Iran Alexander Samaraski in November called for the development of all-out ties with Ukraine, reiterating that Tehran sees no restriction or impediment to the expansion of its relations with Kiev.
