Issues could be resolved through building up trust: Rafsanjani
TEHRAN, July 13 (MNA) – The Expediency Council chairman has said that the issues facing the country could be resolved through building up mutual trust between people and the establishment.
On the ways out of the country’s current political situation, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said he believes “mutual trust between people, political activists, the media and the establishment could resolve the issues.”
He added that isolating extremist groups and hardliners and holding free parliamentary and presidential elections with participation of all political groups and persuasions that believe in the system and the Constitution will also help improve the situation.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rafsanjani described his relationship with the Supreme Leader as “empathetic,” saying it does not mean that there is no difference of opinion.
“But I have always tried to resolve disagreements through consultation and dialogue with him and the system’s influential figures, and not add fuel to the flames,” he said, adding, “And of course, I abide by his views in the end.”
