Several dozen people detained in "silent rally" in Belarus
MINSK, July 14 (Itar-Tass) - Several dozen people were detained in
cities of Belarus during a next "silent rally" late on Wednesday, local
media outlets and human rights activists said.
Most people were detained in Minsk and Gomel. Protesters were also
detained in Brest, Vitebsk, Zhodino, Slutsk, Soligorsk and other cities.
Several reporters were detained, some reports said.
Like in previous silent rallies, numerous groups of plain-clothes
people were used against protesters. They ignored laws and used physical
force. When asked what agency those groups of plain-clothes people
belonged to, Minsk police spokesman Alexander Lastovsky said "I don't know who these people are".
