White House has political will as to Russia WTO entry shortly - FM

WASHINGTON, July 14 (Itar-Tass) - The White House "has the political
will" in the issue of Russia's WTO entry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei
Lavrov said on Wednesday.
Within the framework of his three-day working visit to the USA, the
Russian foreign minister met on Wednesday with U.S. President Barack
Obama. "At a meeting with Obama we fully agreed with a need to resolve all
the remaining issues (on Russia's WTO entry - ed). As I have understood
from today's meeting, the White House has the political will in that
issue," Lavrov said at a news conference jointly with U.S. Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton, for her part, said Russia's entry into the World
Trade Organisation is a matter of top priority on the agenda of Barack
Obama's administration.
She said the U.S. government strongly supports Russia's WTO bid, and
that Washington is absolutely confident that Russia's WTO entry will be
for the good of the U.S. economy as well.
