LIBYA CONTACT GORUP SAYS QADDAFI NO MORE
Members of the Libya Contact Group declared on Friday in a meeting in Istanbul that Qaddafi regime is no longer the legitimate representative of the Libyan people. The Group said it recognized the rebel National Transitional Council as the legitimate governing authority in Libya. The Group decided to cut down all relations with the Qaddafi regime. The contact group also pledged to release part of Qaddafi's frozen assets to make financial aid to the rebels.
PREMIER HARSH ON AUTONOMY PROCLAMATION
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan fired a salvo of severe criticisms on Democratic Society Congress (DTK) which announced democratic autonomy in country's southeast. "The only way for all this to end is the terrorist organization laying down its arms. PKK and its political extensions shall no more expect good-intended actions from us. Things will be much more different from now on. Democratic autonomy is just a fantasy which they create and believe on their own," Erdogan said.

13 soldiers who were martyred in Silvan town of southeastern province of Diyarbakir were laid to eternal rest at a ceremony. President Abdullah Gul pointed to the timing of the attack and said, "we should look for many intentions behind the attacks."
Kilicdaroglu asked a common will to be displayed in the parliament.
Non-governmental organizations asked political parties who have and don't have groups at the parliament to take initiatives. TUSIAD said, "no development can legalize terrorism which is a crime of humanity. An atmosphere of dialogue should be created to disrupt the ambush."

Libya Contact Group convened in Istanbul. The participants called on Moammar Gaffadi to "withdraw". The Transitional National Council was accepted as the only representative of Libya. The participants decided to continue the operations in Ramadan although Turkey took a dim view against the decision.

A staff sergeant who managed to survive a PKK ambush that killed 13 soldiers and wounded seven others told about the attack that caught the troops unprepared. "Our 200-men contingent team was tired after a full night of sweeping mission and the moment we stopped for a rest bombs came pouring down. Bushes caught ablaze as some soldiers were killed in the fire. The first chopper arrived at the scene only an hour later.

Besiktas sports club's vice president Serdar Adali who was arrested under a match-fixing investigation resigned from his post. Besiktas soccer club has decided to return the last season's Turkish Cup Trophy to Turkish Football Federation (TFF) after club's vice-chairman, coach and team's protocol head were arrested under the match-fixing investigation.
