Moderate earthquake hits Russia's Lake Baikal

VLADIVOSTOK, July 17 (Itar-Tass) -- A magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit the
central areas of Russia's Lake Baikal overnight to Sunday, the Geophysical
Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.
The quake was registered at 03:30 a.m. local time at a depth of 15
kilometers. Its focus was located some 130 kilometers to the north east of
the city of Ulan Ude.
U.S. seismologists however said the quake measured 5.7 point on the
Richetr scale.
So far, there were no reports about damages or casualties.
