Islet of Russia's Angara River put up for sale

IRKUTSK, July 17 (Itar-Tass) -- An islet on the Angara River has been
put up for sale, a source in the real estate agency in Russia's Siberian
city of Irkutsk told Itar-Tass.
Having 2.8 hectares in area, the isle of Talovy is uninhibited. The
only building there is a hut for fishermen. There is no electricity on the
islet. It can be reached from Irkutsk by water in five minutes. There are
bushes, trees and grass on it, its coastline is pebbly and sandy. The
island is privately owned.
According to the real estate agency, local residents seem to show
little interest in the deal, although having islands in private property
is very popular in the West, mostly among missionaries, celebrities,
sportsmen. In Russia such kind of deals are a rare thing. In the mean
time, a number of islands on Chudskoye and Pskovskoye Lakes are already
offered for sale.
