Seoul shares down 0.13 pct in late-morning trade

SEOUL, July 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.13 percent lower late Tuesday morning as falls among energy companies outweighed gains among tech firms, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 2.84 points to 2,127.64 as of 11:20 a.m.
Energy firms led the decline, with leading refiner SK Innovation tumbling 4.79 percent and No. 3 player S-Oil Corp. losing 4.78 percent.
In contrast, Samsung Electronics, the world's top maker of memory chips and liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, rose 0.25 percent.
The local currency was changing hands at 1,059.90 won to the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., up 1 won from Monday's close.
