Syrian MP: Syrians Not to Allow US to Determine Country's Fate

TEHRAN (FNA)- A member of the Syrian parliament said on Tuesday that his people will not allow Washington to meddle with their country's affairs as Syrians are the only ones who have the right to determine their fate.
Speaking to FNA, Shahada Kamel pointed to the United States' scenario for overthrowing Bashar Assad's regime through undermining stability and resistance in Syria through its hirelings and mercenaries in the Arab world and by spending large sums of money.

The lawmaker underlined Washington's lack of knowledge about the realities of Syria, and stated, "The US will fail in doing so."

"The US is not the decision-maker in the case of Syria, rather this is only the Syrian nation who decide their fate," Kamel stated.

The lawmaker further dismissed oppositions' meetings in other countries to find a solution to the ongoing political differences in Syrian, saying, "The country's problems will not be resolved in Paris, Istanbul or Riyadh, rather they should be solved in Syria."

Last week, a senior Iraqi analyst warned that The US and Israel are trying to divide the Syrian nation and government by sparking tension in the Arab state through hiring Saudi and Lebanese March 14 forces.

"The US and Israel are hiring and leading a number of regional forces like (the Lebanese) March 14 and Saudis to show Damascus insecure by creating unrests," Head of the Center for the Southern Iraq Studies and Professor of London University Ali Ramazan al-Ousi told FNA on Saturday.

Earlier, the Iranian foreign ministry in a statement had warned that the US and the Zionist regime of Israel have hatched plots to create a rift among the Syrian people.

The ministry said in a statement that the wave of unrest that has swept across Syria in recent weeks is a plot by Washington and Tel Aviv to undermine the country's national solidarity and sovereignty.
