Russia to host Caspian summit, date, venue not set yet

MOSCOW, July 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia will host a summit of the
Caspian littoral states (Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan and
Kazakhstan), Russian Presidential Representative for the Caspian affairs
Alexander Golovin said here on Wednesday after the 29th meeting of the
special working group developing a convention for the Caspian legal status.
"The date of the summit and a Russian city, which will host the
summit, are not set yet. Only the Russian president can set the summit
venue," he noted.
Golovin also noted that a next meeting of the special working group
will be held in Astana. "The negotiations on a legal status of the Caspian
Sea and the fulfillment of the agreements, which the presidents of our
countries reached, will be continued at this meeting," he underlined.
