Minsk city court upholds a sentence for ex-presidential candidate
MINSK, July 22 (Itar-Tass) - The Minsk city court on Friday upheld a
sentence passed on Vladimir Neklyayev, the ex-candidate to the president
of Belarus. He had been convicted on a criminal charge of organizing mass
riots in the Belarusian capital after the presidential elections on
December 19, 2010 and was sentenced to two years in prison with suspension
for two years.
The court also upheld a sentence to Andrei Neklyayev who received a
two-year suspended prison sentence with a probation period of two years.
Earlier, the Minsk city court left unchanged the sentences to the
ex-presidential candidates Andrei Sannikov, Nikolai Statkevich and Dmitry
Ussu as well as other participants in mass disturbances on December 19.
