Leader: Arrogant Powers Unable to Decide Nations' Fate through Militarism
TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei blasted the presence of the US and European forces in the region, and reiterated that the arrogant powers can no more control and decide the fate of the other nations through militarism.
"The era when the arrogant powers decided (other) nations' fate through their military presence is over," Ayatollah Khamenei said after visiting the Iranian Navy's first naval zone in the Southern Hormozgan province on Saturday.
"If certain regional governments are still seeking to obey the orders of the arrogant powers, (they should know that) the regional nations are now vigilant and awakened and consider the aliens' military presence in the region as a cause of insecurity," he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to the deployment of the US and European warships in the region, and described it as "harmful and unpalatable" to the regional countries.
Iran has always called the western powers' military buildup in the regional countries as the root cause of the current security crisis in the region, and asked the regional states not to pay the costs of the world powers' economic meltdown by purchasing their arms and military equipment.
Iran also always asked for regional and collective approaches towards the settlement of problems in the region, and called for the withdrawal of the alien forces from the regional states.
