FM Summons Berlin Envoy to Protest Anti-Iran Terrorist Activity in Germany
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the German Charge D'affaires in Tehran on Saturday in a bid to voice Iran's strong protest against the presence and free activity of the terrorist PJAK group in Germany.
In absence of Berlin's ambassador to Tehran, German Charge D'affaires Benita Kadenbach was summoned to the Foreign Ministry to convey Iran's formal protest to the German government.
At the meeting, Director of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's First Office for West European Affairs reminded the German envoy of the terrorist activities carried out by the PJAK (the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) terrorist group, which have claimed the lives of scores of Iranian citizens in the last few years, and demanded Berlin to honor its commitment to international campaign against terrorism.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry official reiterated that the presence of the PJAK ringleader in Germany is a flagrant violation of the international undertakings of the German government and encourages terrorists to continue their inhumane crimes.
The official demanded the German government to avoid pursuing a double-standard approach to terrorism and take immediate and serious action to stop the activities of PJAK members on German soil.
The German charge d'affaires, for her part, pledged to convey Iran's protest to her government and inform Iran of Berlin's response.
