Pakistani MP Praises Iran's Rapid Progress Despite Sanctions

TEHRAN (FNA)- The US-engineered sanctions against Iran have failed to stop the Islamic Republic from rapid and steady progress, a Pakistani lawmaker stressed on Tuesday.
Senator and Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League-N Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq further added that sanctions have given boost to the progress of Iran.

"Iran has been following the policy of self reliance and that is why Iran is progressing in every field", he told the Islamic republic news agency.

He said that sanctions imposed on Iran have only expedited the nation's development and progress and strengthened national solidarity.

The Pakistani Senator believed that sanctions have made Iran stronger. He was of the view that Iran is an important country of the region and cannot be isolated by building pressure.

Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq said today Iranian scientists are being recognized at all international forums.

"In my personal view, sanctions against Iran have made the country more powerful, for example in missile and nuclear technology they are far ahead of many countries in the world", said the lawmaker.

He believed that sanctions have turned into useless tool and have certainly lost their efficacy.

Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq added that Iran is depending on indigenous programs which is viewed as its achievement.

He said Iran's progress is a role model for the region and the world, and stated that the Iranian nation had set up an excellent example of resistance against western dominance.

The political leader opined that the West has to understand that strategy of pressurization rarely produced desired results.

The Pakistani Senator was of the view that a country can progress only if it is not dependent upon the resources of other countries. "And this is actually what Iran is doing", said the politician.

Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq lauded efforts made by Iran for nurturing unity among the Muslim Ummah (nation).

"Iran has always played an effective role for the rights of oppressed Muslim nations", he went on to say.

"I believe that Iran would continue to progress in times to come", he said.
