MALAYSIAN PM WILL UNDERGO KNEE SURGERY ON MONDAY

PENDANG (Malaysia), July 29 (Bernama) -- Come Monday, Prime Minister of
Malaysia Najib Tun Razak will undergo a minor knee surgery for an injury
sustained in a futsal match in May.

The game was in conjunction with Youth Day celebrations.

Najib said he would resume work after recuperating for three days.

He said it was an old sports injury which he had sustained while playing
football at the late Mokhtar Dahari testimonial match when he was a youth
and sports minister.

"After so many years, it (the injury) re-surfaced when triggered by the
penalty kick which I took during the Belia Futsal programme," he told reporters
after the 1Malaysia Youth Assembly here Thursday.
