Russia's crime rate down 9 % - minister.
KRANSOYARSK, July 29 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's crime rate has decreased
9.4 percent compared with the same period last year, Interior Minister
Rashid Nurgaliyev said at a conference with senior police officials in the
Krasnodar Territory on Thursday.
"We find it not easy in the president conditions. We both work and
engage in restructuring. But the number of serious crimes decreased 13
percent, and hooliganism by 20 percent from the same period last year. The
criminal cases over 570,000 offenses have been completed, and culprits
were identified in 710,000 crimes. I believe that the measures taken have
provided the opportunity to improve the results," the minister said.
