Chinese naval frigate Louyang, training ship visit Vladivostok.

VLADIVOSTOK, July 29 (Itar-Tass) - The Chinese naval frigate Louyang
and the training ship Zheng He arrived in Vladivostok on Friday. The
Chinese naval sailors will stay in the Primorye capital until August 2 and
will participate in the celebrations of Russia Navy Day and will have
friendly sport events with their fellow sailors from the Russian Pacific
Fleet and will go on a sightseeing tour of Vladivostok.
The delegation of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army
that is headed by Commander of the Chinese Northern Fleet Vice-Admiral
Tian Zhong arrived in Vladivostok together with the Chinese naval ships.
Right after a welcome ceremony of the Chinese ships the delegation visited
the Vladivostok authorities.
"This is already fifth visit of Chinese naval sailors to Vladivostok
for the last ten years and each time they receive a cordial reception and
have an interesting agenda of the visit to the Primorye capital," Tian
Zhong.
"The Chinese naval sailors are visiting Vladivostok ahead of one of
the most important holidays for the residents of our city - Russia Navy
Day," Vladivostok Deputy Mayor Alexei Litvinov noted "This is one more
symbol of development of our good neighborly relations," he said.
The training ship Zheng He is called in honour of a legendary Chinese
traveler, navigator and a diplomat, who headed several large-scale naval
military and trade expeditions in the Medieval Ages. The ship has 568
naval officers and sailors aboard, including 108 cadets of the Dalian
Naval Institute of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, including 13
young women. The frigate Louyang is one of modern Chinese warships. The
frigate was set afloat in 2004 and has a crew of 180 naval sailors.
