Envoy Stresses Tehran's Readiness to Bolster All-Out Cooperation with Dushanbe

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe Ali Asqar She'rdoust underlined Iran's enthusiasm for the further expansion of relations and cooperation with Tajikistan in all fields.
She'rdoust made the remarks in a meeting with Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamrokhon Zarifi conferred Friday evening in which the two sides announced their keenness to promote bilateral relations.
Iran's envoy also expressed Tehran's readiness to foster cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and culture with the Tajik side.
The two further elaborated on the future visit of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Dushanbe which is to take place in about two months' time.
During his visit to Tajikistan, President Ahmadinejad is due to inaugurate the first phase of Sangtoudeh II power plant project.
The Islamic Republic has made $180m investment in the project.
"During his two day visit to Tajikistan, Mr. Ahmadinejad will meet his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon and participate in the inauguration of the first hydro-electric generator of Sangtodeh-2 dam and power plant," She'rdoust told FNA in June.
Iran and Tajikistan have recently accelerated expansion of their ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' officials.
