Russian inspectors to make observation flight above USA
MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - Russian inspectors will perform an
observation flight over the territory of the United States.
Press service of Russia's Defence Ministry told Itar-Tass that in the
framework of international Open Skies Treaty it is planned that from July
31 through to August 8, a group of Russian inspectors will perform an
observation flight over U.S. territory on a Tu-154 LK-1.
The flight will be made from the airport of Travis /California/ and
its maximum range will make 4250 km. On board the plane, American experts
will oversee how Russian inspectors use equipment and systems of
surveillance in accordance with existing agreements.
In 2011, it will be the 20th observation flight carried out by
representatives of the Russian Federation above the territory countries - parties of the Treaty.
