Iran, Qatar Confer on Cooperation in Law Enforcement, Legal Fields

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Envoy to Doha Abdollah Sohrabi in a meeting with Director-General of Qatar's Public Security (Police Chief) Saad Bin Jassim Al Khulaifi discussed mutual cooperation in law-enforcement, legal and judicial fields between the two states.
During the meeting held on Monday, Sohrabi submitted a written message from Iran's Police Chief Brigadier General Esmayeel Ahmadi Moqaddam to Qatari Police Chief.
The Iranian diplomat briefed the Qatari commander about Iran's law enforcement police forces' campaign against drug and human-trafficking and control over the country's border regions.
Extradition of criminals, the latest status of Iranian prisoners in Qatar and cooperation between coastal guards as well as the two countries' cooperation in intelligence sharing and campaign against narcotics and illegal immigration were among the other issues discussed in the meeting.
Iran and Qatar have recently augmented efforts to further expand ties and cooperation in all the different political, economic, defense and security fields.
The two Persian Gulf littoral states recently signed several protocols to increase mutual cooperation, specially in different areas of security.
