S. Korea's SPP wins US$760 mln orders for 20 tanker ships
SEOUL (Yonhap) - SPP Shipbuilding Co., a South Korean shipyard, said Tuesday that it has recently clinched orders valued at a combined US$760 million to build 20 tanker ships.
The deals include ones with Admore of Ireland and Socatra of France, the South Korean shipbuilder said.
The mid-sized tanker ships will be delivered starting from 2013, SPP Shipbuilding said.
In April this year, the shipbuilder said it has won a $120 million order from a Turkish company to build five bulk carriers.
SPP Shipbuilding, the world's 12th-largest shipyard, has order backlogs worth $5.5 billion worth of orders to build 146 ships.
