Report Confirms Israel Involvement in Assassination of Iranian Elite

TEHRAN (FNA)- A report by the German weekly, Der Spiegel, blamed the Zionist regime of Israel for the assassination of a young Iranian scientist in Tehran on July 23.
Iran's young scientist, Daryoush Rezayeenejad, a brilliant post graduate student in the field of Power and Electronics, was gunned down on July 23 in the country's capital city of Tehran by two unknown terrorists.
In an article published on Monday entitled "Israel's Murderous Sabotage Strategy," Der Spiegel wrote that the assassination was planned and implemented by Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad.
It added that the terrorist attack was the "first action" of new Mossad chief Tamir Pardo and noted that the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists is part of Israel's sabotage strategy to stop or delay Iran's nuclear program.
Earlier, 200 Iranian parliamentarians in a statement took Washington and Tel Aviv responsible for the assassination of the Iranian scientist, but meantime underlined that such hostile moves and policies will produce no result for the US and the Zionist regime.
Meantime, Director of Iran Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics Javad Larijani blamed the Zionist regime of Israel for the assassination of a young Iranian scientist, and asked the UN to investigate the case.
"Mr. Rezayeenejad's assassination shows that there is a quite hostile policy against our nation, in which the Zionists and the United States and some European governments are fully engaged," said Larijani, who is also the Secretary-General of Iran's High Council of Human Rights.
"Being a scientific elite was his only guilt, and he was just working for the progress of his country," he added.
"We have written a letter to Mrs. Navi Pillay, the high commissioner of UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, and profoundly asked her to report this issue to the United Nations that why Iranian scientists are martyred by the Zionists and hostile regimes."
