Jilin Week of Tourism opens in Vladivostok Wed

VLADIVOSTOK, August 3 (Itar-Tass) - A Week of Tourism of the Chinese
province of Jilin begins here on Wednesday. An official at the press
center of Russia's Primorsky Territory (PT) administration has told
Itar-Tass that the Week will open up with a ceremony at which Jilin's
potential of tourism will be introduced. Chinese tour operators will
present new itineraries that can be of interest to PT folks. Fifty travel
firms of Jilin and 80 travel organizations from various cities of PT will
take part in the ceremony.
An exhibition Take Joy in Jilin will open in Vladivostok on August 4.
PT residents will get information on the best places for holidaying,
health resorts and sanatoriums of Jilin, and will be able to see photos of
Jilin's most picturesque tourist attractions.
A Jilin Province delegation will arrive here to take part in the Week
of Tourism. The guests intend to tour facilities intended for the APEC
summit on Russkiy Island, port Zarubino, and and the Sino-Russian
timber-industry enterprise in the Khasan District of PT.
The Chinese province of Jilin with administrative center in the city
of Chanchun borders on PT. It is situated in China's north-east. The
province abounds in tourist resources. Chanchun has available monuments
connceted with the history of Manzhou-guo, the memorial to the fallen
servicemen of the Soviet Red Army, the well-known Chanchun film studios,
and large automobile making plants.
The Primosrky Terriotry and Jilin are brought together by strong
economic and friendly relations. The two territories have a signed plan
for interaction in trade, economic, and investment fields.
