Russia-SKorea youth-dialogue meeting to open in St Pete
ST PETERSBURG, August 3 (Itar-Tass) - The second Russo-South Korean
youth-dialogue meeting opens at St Petersburg State University on
Wednesday. The meeting is to be held in preparation for a Russia-Republic
of Korea (ROK) Dialogue forum which is to be held in autumn 2011.
Participants in the meeting "are to discuss matters concerning
Russo-Korean youth cooperation with a view to enhancing mutual
understanding between our two countries within the context of strategic
partnership," Professor Valery Katkalov at the Faculty of Geology and the
University's Higher School of Management, has told Itar-Tass.
Katkalov pointed out that the dialogue is intended to ensure direct
contact between the young people of the two countries to foster the
feeling of solidarity and fellowship in the development of bilateral
relations".
Professor Katkalov said one of the main purposes of the conference
"will be to prepare an address to the leaders of the two countries within
the scope of the RF-ROK Dialogue forum.
The youth dialogue meeting will continue until Aug 9. The programme
provides for five sessions dedicated to interaction between social
institutions, globalization processes, the role of Russia and the ROK in
tackling the problems of security in the regions, and main trends in the
youth culture of the two countries.

basis of Koryo University in Seoul and in Cheju-do Island in July 2010.
