Iranian MP Warns against Foreign Interference in Syria's Internal Affairs

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian legislator warned foreign countries against any interference in the internal affairs of Syria, and stressed that the problems between the Syrian people and government should be resolved by themselves.
Problems between the Syrian people and their government should be resolved through bilateral negotiations between the two sides, Deputy Head of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Esmaeil Kosari told FNA.
He also said that any military action against Syria will be met with a "crushing" response from the Syrian nation.
"In case of a military invasion against Syria, the people of this country will give a crushing response to British officials," Kosari said on Tuesday.
"The government and the people of Syria will further unite in case of a military invasion and strongly respond to the British," he added.
On Monday, British Foreign Secretary William Hague called for "stronger international pressure" on Damascus, saying the use of force, even with United Nations backing, was "not a remote possibility."
"British [officials] make ridiculous remarks about the situation in the region to cover their own domestic problems and their hideous crimes in Iraq," Kosari said.
"If the Britons are honest in their claims of supporting human rights, they should prevent the presence of Saudi military forces in Bahrain and avoid cooperating with the Bahraini regime in massacring the Bahrainis," the Iranian lawmaker added.
In June, lawyers from Lebanon, Spain, France and Italy accused Britain of selling arms, including sniper rifles, to the Manama regime.
They also accused the UK government of training Bahraini police forces, who are accused of using heavy-handed tactics against anti-government protesters in the Persian Gulf country.
