Iran, Kuwait Eager to Expand Cultural Ties
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Kuwait voiced their willingness to boost mutual cooperation in cultural and academic fields.
The issue was raised in a meeting between Iran's Cultural Attaché to Kuwait Abbas Khameyaar and the Dean of Kuwait Social Sciences Faculty Abdul-Reza Asiri in Kuwait City.
The Iranian diplomat referred to the two countries' appropriate capacities and pointed out that development of Iran-Kuwait bilateral ties and cultural cooperation is a must.
He underlined that expansion of mutual cooperation in exchange of university professors, and staging of joint academic meetings in the presence of the two countries' elites are beneficial for the two nations' relations.
Asiri, for his part, emphasized on expansion of mutual cooperation and said that Iran's glittering culture has always been respected by the people of Kuwait.
Tehran has in recent years stepped up its efforts to establish and boost ties with the neighboring states, the Persian Gulf littoral states in particular.
Iran and Kuwait enjoy cordial diplomatic relations. After Iran came under increasing pressure from the West in recent years over its civilian nuclear program, Kuwait demanded the US to respect Iranian sovereignty and seek a diplomat solution to the matter.
