Lee goes on summer vacation

SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Myung-bak began a summer break in a provincial area of the country on Wednesday, the presidential office said.
The president will rest with his family until Sunday, but the schedule may change depending on weather conditions, the office said.
He was originally set to go on vacation on Monday but delayed his departure due to downpours that triggered massive human and property losses in the central region of the country last week.
While on vacation, Lee is expected to ponder the contents of his Aug. 15 Liberation Day speech that will unveil his overall policy direction for the remainder of his presidency, aides said.
Lee may also deliberate on a possible Cabinet reshuffle of his aides, they said.
Before leaving, Lee paid his respects to the family of the late Rev. Ha Yong-jo, founder of Onnuri Presbyterian Church, one of the country's most influential Christian churches.
Ha died at age 65 on Tuesday, a day after collapsing due to a cerebral hemorrhage. He underwent surgery but did not regain consciousness.
